Doctor Of Ayurvedic Medicine

From my love of yoga came my love for ayurveda. From my own journey of healing my digestive ailments,

I began teaching yoga workshops for digestive wellness to share my wisdom others. Over and over ayurveda came to my attention and soon I knew I needed to dive in and discover what this sister science of yoga was all about.  

I became a Clinical Ayurveda Specialist in 2007, and a Medical Ayurveda Specialist in 2020 through California College of Ayurveda. But my trainings began in 2000 after almost a decade of exploring yoga and bodywork therapies. In 2000 I took my first massage certification course. From there I have been trained in many other modalities including Thai Yoga Massage, Acupressure/Marma therapy, Raindrop Essential Oil therapy, pre and post-natal massage, medicated oil treatments, facials, huna energy work, pranic healing and marma point work, acupressure, jaw and mouth treatments, bliss therapies and more.  

 

In 2002 I completed my first 200 Hr yoga teacher training, continued many other yoga, meditation, and movement trainings through the years including Iyengar with Kofi Busia, Clare Benet and others, Vinyasa with Shiva Rea, Pre and Post Natal with Stephanie Halderman and Devorah Blum, Yoga Nidra/i rest with Richard Miller, Mindfulness Meditation and more. In Spring 2020 I was able to work with Nubia Teixeira and Bhakti Yoga influence to complete a 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training.

I not only have a private practice (since 2002) but I am on the faculty of both California College of Ayurveda and Hindu University of America. I teach Digestive System Anatomy and Physiology, Pancha Karma and Rejuvenation Treatments, and I am a supervisor to intern practitioners. I continue to learn from my mentors Dr. Halpern, David Frawley, Dr. Vasant Lad, and others and continue to share my knowledge and experience with students, clients, friends and family.

While I continue my education with seasoned ayurvedic specialists, the real practice is in the self-study! To live ayurveda in my own daily life, with my family, and in my professional practice is to truly hold the science and practice in real time and close to my heart.

 

As I've continued to learn, study, gather information and live with hands on experience in Ayurveda's nutrition, herbal medicine, plant medicine, yoga, meditation, bodywork therapies, and energy medicine I have been able to feel it's precious gem of a healing tool. These modalities, all under the umbrella of Ayurveda, bring such peace and wellness to my body, mind, and spirit.
